What is the YIVTOL S-ZERO?

The S-ZERO is YIVTOL's flagship single-seat personal ultralight manned eVTOL aircraft, designed for flying enthusiasts and explorers. It combines a lightweight airframe, intelligent stabilisation and intuitive controls for safe, convenient free flight.

What editions are available?

Four: BASIC (rated 70 kg, max 90 kg, 30 minutes), PLUS (rated 90 kg, max 120 kg, 30 minutes), MAX LITE (same payload and endurance as PLUS, different configuration), and MAX (rated 90 kg, max 120 kg, 50 minutes — 67% more flight time).

Does it need a runway?

No. It takes off and lands vertically, so no runway is required. It operates from flight camps, urban hubs and similar sites.

What is the airframe made of?

Titanium alloy — stronger than conventional aviation materials without compromising weight.

How long does charging take?

About one hour on 380 V / 70 A, about two hours on 220–230 V / 30 A, and about three hours on 110–120 V / 15 A.

What control and flight modes are there?

Ground-station remote control for training and sightseeing, or an onboard joystick for experienced pilots. GPS mode auto-balances for beginners; Attitude mode is manual and for skilled pilots only.

What type of aircraft is it and does it need a licence?

It is an ultralight, exempt from complex airworthiness certification in most countries. In the United States it falls under FAA Part 103, so no pilot licence is required. Licensing rules differ by country.

What certifications has it obtained?

Europe: the first-ever Certificate of Filing for a civil eVTOL, granted 9 June 2026, classified as a manned aircraft. China: the relevant civil aviation certifications for compliant flight in mainland China.

What safety testing has it passed?

A wind wall test — the first for an ultralight eVTOL — at Force 2 to 7 including gusts, and a single-motor failure test confirming stable flight and safe landing on partial power loss.

Does it have airbags and a parachute?

They are available as options, and have been tested in real flight by the YIVTOL founder. They are recommended for advanced flight needs.

Is insurance available?

Comprehensive aviation insurance has been obtained in mainland China and coverage in Hong Kong; in other regions YIVTOL works with local partners to arrange it.

Do you help with local regulatory compliance?

Yes. YIVTOL provides technical and documentation support — airworthiness filings, technical specifications and local compliance consulting — to help owners operate legally in their market.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. YIVTOL exports to more than 20 countries with full export qualifications, and supports compliant import, registration and delivery through local partners.

How long is delivery?

Approximately one month after order confirmation.

What is included in a purchase?

The aircraft, initial pilot training and after-sales support. The initial training fee is included in the purchase price — there is no separate training charge. Details vary by edition and region.

Does the price include tax and shipping?

No. Tax depends on your country. For reference, air freight from China to the USA is around US$5,000 for the aircraft and around US$2,000 for the battery. Final price is subject to quotation.

Is training required?

Yes. All operators must complete professional training before solo flight. The initial pilot training fee is included in the aircraft price at no extra cost, and training is available on site, fully online, or at the factory in China.
